On Saturday, March 1st, 2025, the Hillside High School Academic Decathlon team competed in the State Competition! The team came in 8th place in the State of New Jersey and scored over 30,000 points for the first time in the school's career! The top scorers for the team were Emmanuella Oluyomi, Salimata Sy, and Pranay Talati. In addition, Pranay received a Gold medal in Art and Music; a Silver medal in Economics; Bronze medals in Language and Literature, Science, and Interview; and an Honorable Mention in Social Science! Jeremy Laryea was named the team's Most Valuable Player. Awards were given at the annual ceremony on Monday, March 10th, 2025, at the Brownstone in Paterson, New Jersey. Coach Corritore and Coach Mandy would like to thank current and retired staff for volunteering at the competition and the Hillside High School administration for their support this school year. Amazing work Decathlon Team!
