Hillside High School Student Council (StuCo) attended the @NJASC Spring Awards Ceremony at Six Flags in Jackson, NJ! @hillsidestuco was awarded the Community Smile Award, in recognition of their work to improve the school community and beyond, and the State Charity Award, in recognition of their donation in the amount of $1,000 to the NJASC 2023 State Charity @HugsForBrady.
Former StuCo President Adriana Silva (12) and Current StuCo President Ashley Dos Santos (11) accepted the awards on behalf of the entire student council.

Last night (6/3/2024), Hillside High School hosted its Senior Awards Night! Congratulations to all the Hillside High School Seniors who received an award across various subjects such as Literature, History, Biliteracy, Athletics, Athletic training, Academic Decathlon, National Honor Society, JROTC, and more! Thank you to the Hillside Public Schools Guidance Department, Superintendent Glover, the Hillside Board of Education, Hillside Public Schools Directors, and Administrators for making this wonderful evening possible and recognizing our students! On Saturday, June 1st, 2024, Hillside Public Schools and Leaders of the 21st Century @lot21c hosted a culmination event to celebrate a magnificent partnership! "Leaders of the 21st Century is a non-profit whose mission is to develop civic-minded youth leaders in urban communities and prepare them for the world of work and beyond through professional and leadership development." Thank you, Superintendent Glover, Mr. De Nose, Principal Woolard, and Hillside Board of Education Members for providing this revolutionary program to 50 Hillside High School Seniors! In a bid to promote mental wellness among students, Melba Mullins, Hillside High School's Student Assistance Coordinator & the Counseling Department, successfully organized a transformative Mental Health Fair on May 30, 2024! Held in the serene ambiance of the high school Media Center, the event saw the active participation of various state and county agencies, each dedicated to presenting an array of mental health resources and engaging activities aimed at fostering relief and well-being among our students.
Attendees were welcomed with engaging sessions of finger painting, coloring activities, and uplifting positive affirmations, thus creating a safe space for students to unwind, relax, and explore techniques for managing their emotional well-being. The tranquil atmosphere, combined with the enriching resources provided, made the Mental Health Fair a truly impactful and valuable experience for all participants! Thank you, Ms. Mullins, and the Counseling Department for organizing this truly beneficial event!

Thursday, May 23, 2024, five students - Ashley Dos Santos (11), Brandon Guevara (12), Erick Malvarez Bentos (12), D’Antagnan Siddons (12), and Adriana Silva (12) - accompanied by HHS Vice Principal Rosalind Bartholomew and advisor Noreen Deutsch, attended the New Jersey State Board of Education Student Recognition Ceremony in Ewing, NJ where the Hillside High School Student Council was recognized for the positive and meaningful contributions they have made to the school and their community!
Union County Executive Superintendent Daryl Palmieri was on hand to greet and congratulate the students on their accomplishments!
