The Joe Silver Holiday Basketball Tournament occurred from December 26th - December 29th, 2023, at Hillside High School! We are beyond proud of our Hillside Comets and their phenomenal performance throughout the tournament, making it to the championship game for the first time in a decade! Come out to the HHS Class of 2025's Winter Vendor Fair this Saturday, December 16th from 10am-4pm in the Hillside High School Cafeteria! Vendors will be there selling all different items: Soaps, Crocheted & Knitted Items, Jewelry, Artwork, Waist Beads, Makeup, Scentsy, Home Decor, Bath Items, and More! There will be a $1 Admission Fee which will get you two entries into a gift auction of prizes donated by our generous vendors. The Hillside Student Council will also be on site to take Holiday Pictures if you haven't checked that off your list yet!

The 3rd annual Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Mixer was in the Hillside High School media center last night, December 13th, 2023! Shoutout to the multitude of HBCUs represented and present at the mixer, as well as the amazing panelists there to answer the questions of parents, and students. Students gained a wealth of knowledge and even had access to instant decision opportunities with various HBCUs! Santa Claus came to town! Milk & Cookies with Santa 2023 is in the books, and it was spectacular! The Hillside High School gymnasium was filled to near capacity on the night of December 13th, 2023, as Hillside families, students, and children were greeted by Santa Claus himself! Parents, and families, got to take pictures with Santa, participate in various fun activities at different tables, and receive gifts during the toy giveaway! Thank you to the Hillside Police Department @hillsidepolicenj, Hillside Board of Education President, Ms. Cook, and the Hillside Board of Education for organizing this fantastic, unforgettable event for the community annually. On December 8th, 2023, Mrs. Ebong and 20 juniors and seniors attended The Newark College of Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology's (NJIT) annual NCE Engineering Career Day! The Engineering Career Day programs are designed to allow high school students to explore engineering and consider engineering as a career path. Students met current engineering students and faculty and were presented with systems, devices, robots, and vehicles. Two students pictured below have been accepted into NJIT thus far, Dylan De Castro and Adams Jacques! Great work Hillside High School and thank you @njit!
